A DonnaWorld Movie Review
You got your dungeon in my dragon. No, you got your dragon in my dungeon!
Dungeons & Dragons

This movie focuses on a group of four young men (although one of them is played by a woman) playing the classic board game, Dungeons & Dragons. That's it. Two hours of a bunch of nerdy kids rolling dice and pretending to battle imaginary monsters.

Jeremy Irons plays the Dungeon Master, who controls everything that happens within the game. Marlon Wayans plays a wizard named Galstaff, and Justin Whalin plays an elf with gray eyes (or is that blue?). Meanwhile, Thora Birch for some reason plays a male character who spends almost the entire movie pretending to get drunk at a tavern.

Much like The Blair Witch Project, this movie featured no real action. Just a group of kids playing a board game. Then, as I was getting up to leave, I thought of another group of kids. Four girls who spent lots of time on a hobby. In high school, they were often mocked by their peers. But they stuck with it, and today we know those four girls as the Donnas. I proudly stood up and applauded the movie for what I believe to be its true message: girl bands rock. This is why Dungeons & Dragons earns a massive FOUR Donnas.
